Would you prefer Ron Paul to stay the way he is and be unelectable, or update his image and get a real shot?

That would ruin it for him: Ron Paul has no interest in getting nominated, let alone being elected. Being a perpetual candidate gives him the bully pulpit without the responsibilities. Plus, there are certain perquisites that come with being a candidate (Sarah Palin's quarter million dollar Neiman~Marcus shopping spree?) Candidates can charge a wardrobe to the campaign, as long as they wear each item at least once in public while campaigning, they can stay in fancy hotels, order whatever off room service, all billable to the campaign, and they can even pay themselves, all courtesy of the campaign.
