Should a Californian Congressman block Oregon Dam Removal?
Republican U.S. Rep. Tom McClintock succeeded in putting an amendment into the House continuing resolution Wednesday that cut $1.9 million from the Department of the Interior budget for the rest of this year. Without this study McClintock only serves to delay the removal of four dams on the Oregon side of the Klamath river. The removal of these dams will aid in salmon recovery and allow for a new power plant to be built. McClintock's actions have only served to accrue most costs to the states of Oregon, California, and the salmon and salmon fisherman. Is this how the Gop fights for you?
