if she has a morbid interest in the process of dying, nix the horror films and take her to a funeral home. sometimes, a funeral director will allow a child to walk through, explain the entire process from the autopsy to the burial. we went to one when I was in junior high with the youth group from church. then ask her to sit down and talk about it. don't push yourself on her, but tell her you will be there for her if she wants to talk. she definitely needs grief counseling. research the kind of cancer her mom had, and try to explain it to her. pull it up on the internet. a lot of the research will either show pictures or explain the processes that happen to a person. being that she lost her mother at a young age and can remember what happened, she is older emotionally than she would be without. when she starts asking questions about it, help her find all of the answers you can. also, look into community organizations, no charge groups, who hold bereavement meetings. this may help her if she can get together with other people, even adults, who have experienced loss. she may be able to tell them things that she can't tell you. if you can find a group, ask if you could be allowed to wait outside. she may feel more welcomed and open up to them without you there. you might be too close to the situation for her to open up to you. hope this helps. good luck!

A few years ago I spent $1200 on my first laptop and I totally hated the little rubber pad that you drag your finger across to move the mouse cursor. Why don't they make that into a trackball instead like on the Blackberry mobile phone? I took back my laptop and was hit with a $300 return charge, but I didn't care since the laptop was so slow even though the salesman claimed it was so fast with fancy specs. I was having mild cramping days before my period and usually cramps were the sign that my period was coming but not mild so I knew there was something different these cramps were baby cramps compared to my regular cramps so ofcourse my period never came so that was the biggest sign I never thought I could be pregnant so I waited a week after my missed period to test but if you think you can be pregnant take a test it's hard to say if you are or not because you dont have a missed period yet good luck!

Transferring Hibiscus bushes from one side of yard to the other..?

You don't say where you live but I have had good luck in Fl. transplanting hibiscus just about any time of the year. Some things to keep in mind - plant leaves will sunburn if they haven't been grown in the sun. You may want to provide partial temporary shade. Cut about a third of the leafy top growth back before digging the root ball. This helps to compensate for the roots that will get cut by digging. A few weeks before I transplant, I take a sharp shovel and cut around the plant defining the root ball that I plan to extract. This gives the plant time to adjust or shock before the actual transplant. Good luck!

Had a hysterectomy 4/13 and wondering if this pain is normal?

I am a pediatric nurse and obviously no hysterectomy's are performed on our floor so I really dont know if the pain I am having post op is normal. It hurts bad, real bad to p gas and to have a BM, it feels like my intestines are at war with each other in there. I know they used the gas during surgery and the gas is normal but is the pain that comes along with it? Please share any of your post op hysterectomy recommendations with me.

There will always be the label "haves and have nots" applied to different socio-economic groups. The question is how do we close the gap between the two. As long as education is looked at as an expense rather than an investment the gap won't close. Pregnant or just some kind of weird sickness?

Okay, so here is the run down with what has been going on with me. I've been really sick lately. I have awful allergies and got a bad upper respiratory infection and got put on an antibiotic. I take birth control and know antibiotics can make it less effective. Since being off the antibiotics I had to go see my doctor again at school (no insurance) for my post nasal drip. I was prescribed Singulair and Veramyst to help with that to take along with Zyrtec. On top of that I have ADD and severe panic attacks so I take Adderall and Xanax. I also have very bad back problems and had been taking lortab 7.5 but have been off of them for a while. I take Aleve to help with the back pain. My back is so bad that I have had to have 3 spinal epidural steroid injections in the past month or so, every 2 weeks. I have just been going through a lot with my health lately. So for a little over a week about once a day I will get sick and throw up. Even if there is nothing in my stomach except water I will throw that up and dry heeve. Bile is another thing that has been coming up. I didn't know if it could be that I got pregnant from my birth control being less effective due to my antibiotic or just that I have been having so much drainage that it makes me sick. Please if someone has any inkling as to what is going on with me let me know! My insurance is inactive and my school health services provider is not very good. They just want you in and out of there...thank you!!!

Red, hot skin reaction...?

This happens all on it's own, I thought it came on sometimes if I drank, but I can drink on many occasion and nothing happens, then again no drinking at all and flare up, so badly sometimes it's not the hot red flush thing, but I will wake up to a swollen eye reddened so bad like someone punched me, it will go away on it's own in like 2 to 4 days, while I take Claritan, benadryl etc. I have gone to the hospital for it twice because it was so bad...my eye and it changed, from right to left, but most common my left. they checked my into the cardiac unit because of the fear of it going to the brain (because they didn't know the cause_ they kept me in the hosp for 4 days with dermatol, disease skin specialist and bottom line after a million times taking my blood daily, with no answer. They discharged me and said go to a dermatologist,...after having derm. testing me while there, My skin was on fire like burning from the inside and my eye swelled like Tyson socked me. the second visit to the hosp I brought my previous records with all labs and the em doc said allergy to something, he said even though I have never had any allergies before they can suddenly occur, I'm 44. I haven't changed anything in the way of food, drink, laundry product etc. Now it hasn't happened in 2 months and tonite after 2 gles of wine the sudden hot red flush, face, neck stomach forearms, and I drink wine pretty often, how can this just flare up? Yes, tonite I am overwhelmed with stress from something and am wondering, does anyone relate? I took claritan and it's like 45 minutes later and is subsiding. Any clues? Do I just deal with this as an unknown question like the hospital seemed to? anyone with similar exp would be appreciated. Lots of stress today, could it be?????

She is 4, yes I know she is young, but she has worked through that snaffle in a matter of months. What do my strange symptoms mean?

The first time I noticed anything strange happening was the other night, maybe a week ago on my way home from work, it was this shooting pain that started in the middle of my chest and extended out into my shoulders and arms. I found my pulse and every time my heart beat i felt a jolt of pain in my chest. This lasted for maybe 5-10 minutes, then my chest started contracting like i was going to have a panic attack (I am prone to panic attacks) and it was getting difficult to breath properly. This lasted for a good 10 minutes. When i went home i went to bed and tried to disregard it. The next morning however, i was running and the chest pain came back, so i just ran through it and tried to ignore it. I have not experienced this since. I noticed that I have been extremely tired all the time, even on days when i know i got plenty of sleep. I have been using the bathroom frequently (Im not pregnant, im on the nuvaring). I have been hungry all the time and constantly going through the kitchen trying to find something to munch on. I have been trying to eat healthier things like fruits and veggies, but ive been craving meat, and high carb things like bread and noodles. Ive also had the urge to exercise more. I have been trying to run a mile and a half every day, and keep my heart rate up for at least half an hour. This is really weird considering i used to not exercise hardly ever, and i could maintain a slim figure. Now Im starting to gain weight and I try to eat healthy, but im always hungry, Im exercising more, but its just not stopping. Does this sound like some kind of disorder you may have heard of??? I really don't want to go to the doctor, between my college courses and work, i don't have a lot of free time. I just want suggestions and maybe some at home remedy???

A/c run's and cool's but very low air flow?

While running a/c you can feel the change from defrost, floor, regular vent's etc. So vacuum switch working to move flow. But airflow seem's to be blocked and very low pressure from vents. Is there a filter somewhere?? Do I maybe need to clean evap coil? I do hvacr, but never on vehicles. 2003 Ram 1500 sport truck. Better yet how do I get this thing apart so I can get my air flow path cleaned and real air flow back????

Hi, I am a 28 year old guy who is temporarily having to live with my sister and is attending the local community college until I get enough money in student loans saved up to transfer to a four year university. The reason that I am getting such a late start in my schooling is because I was basically forced into the military right after high school due to a lack of support from my parents. Anyway, I've lived here in Colorado Springs for a couple of years now and absolutely DO NOT fit in here and there are MANY reasons for this. Long jump distance help?

This whole summer I've been in the gym working out and I'm trying to go to state in long jump and sprints. I've been doing plyometrics box jumps and lunges with weights. My best distance was 16'10 and I'm going to be a junior this upcoming school year. Well I've noticed that I'm jumping higher vertically but if I'm jumping higher would it be the same if I'm gong horizontally for distance in the long jump? I don't only work on my legs I also work upper body n core also. I've also been gaining weight that I'm trying to turn into muscle wouldn't the weight help me go farther. I think it would because I'll have more momentum and I think of it like which can you throw farther a balled up piece of paper or a rock lol. Thanks for your answers

I have an embarring problem?

I sleepwalk. At night I get out of bed and do god knows what. I wake in different rooms sometimes I spill stuff on me. once I was eating a bowl of cereal I woke when I spilled the cold milk in my lap. They are the source of much of your confusion and the pressure. It is VERY HARD to be with friends that are into smoking and drugs when you are too smart for that. So, find some new friends. Look around you. Pay attention and watch people. Decide who you want to be friends with. Consider a new hobby. Find something to do that makes you feel awesome about who you are. Thirdly, your parents love you very, very much. I know. That sounds so lame. But they are willing to make great sacrifices for you and not everyone has that. Try to talk to them. Tell them what you're going through. Learn some breathing exercises. Give yourself a break. You're going to be ok. Really. It gets better, just hang in there. : )

I'm the lead in my school play and the character is supposed to have long hair, but I have a short bob. It needs to be pulled back in a ponytail and I can't really do that without looking butch. Well if you have only two days maybe you can talk your parents into doing a park hopper for one days of Disney. You can start out at Animal Kingodom.. ride Everest and Dinosaur (But def don't waste time at this park if your not doing a Park hopper) and then by lunch time you can go to Hollywood studios (again don't plan on spending a full day here) but for sure make sure you do ECPOT! Magic Kingdom can be kind of boring if your into thrill rides so I'd say to head over to Island of Adventure and possibly get a hopper p to Universal to do both of those in a day. Just don't leave without doing Epcot!

Ok. I went to the drug store with my mother cause she wanted me to come along what have you. I said ok ill go. knew it was a bad idea. Today i wore a cute grey knit top with earrings to match jeans and some cute sandals. You always have to look your best because you never know when you gonna run into somebody you DONT care to see. So we went in and as soon as i got in there this lady turned around and looked at me and looked me up and down and i just looked at her like is there a problem and just kept it moving to the makeup aisle while my mother went and got whatever. The lady had on an oversize shirt and some shorts didnt check out her shoes .The make up aisle is like 2 aisles away from the cash register. Then i heard somebody talking and she was describing my outfit to the tea and talking about i dont know u had to come dressed up to a drug store and was going on and im like wow are you serious. Im like i dont even know but if i had came with a tee and some jeans and looking kind of rugged she would have said something. so its a lose/lose. I'm over it now but it kinda got me a little upset. Question for wedding planners?

Is it possible to have a small and private winter wedding (max 30people) without church (just courthouse or something similar) and only a brunch reception after the "ceremony" (if you can call the courthouse a ceremony) for max $7000?? We really dont want anything fancy, just family and some close friends. I have endometriosis but don't want a hysterectomy, help!!!!?

I have been treated for 2 years on and off with prostap injections for endometriosis. Other than a mirena coil I would have to have a hysterectomy. I don't want either, Can anyone suggest anyway of coping with the unbearable pain that I experience each month or suggest an alternative treatment that works? Ashamed of myself.. feel like a failure?

Well its been two months since i have graduated with a whopping 2.93 gpa in finance and management. I have been looking for jobs for almost a month and i have had a couple interviews but no luck. I feel like i have let my parents down. I first started off as pre-med and changed my major because i just wasnt smart enough. I would try so hard for a cl and still would get below average grades. Consequently changing my major didnt help.. i was still stuggling as a business major and got below average grades in several cles eventhough i studied day and night. And to make things worse my friends are all doing well. Some have got into medical school, pharmacy school, and graduate school. And me.. nothing. My parents always compare me to them and its just sad. I have not accomplished anything in life and i feel like im the prime example of someone sucking at life. I had all the opportunity in the world and i let my parents down and especially myself.
